Caption: The group shown in the old photograph is the first station party at Abbeyfeale, opened on 22nd February, 1923, and includes Sergeant Patrick Marron, 3510; and Gardai James Green, 1981; John McGuinness, 2139; Timothy Lehane, 4991; and Patrick Finlay, 51. Sergeant Marron retired in 1966; John McGuinness in 1958; and Tim Lehane as a sergeant in 1957. James Green resigned away back in 1926. The photograph is from Mrs. Margaret Mary Finlay, Abbey Street, Portumna, widow of the late Garda Patrick Finlay, who is standing in the second row behind the sergeant (mother of Garda Timothy Finlay, Ennis).
