The photograph was taken on the 15th July, 1993 at Ballymena Police Station where the Sub Divisional Commander, Supt. Stanley Allen hosted an evening for young people who had been selected for stage IV of the Ballymena Ramble which is jointly organised by the Community Affairs Branch and the local council. The cheque for £500 was the result of participants of the 1993. Ramble sponsoring themselves while undertaking various stages, and was the first time such sponsorship was directly involved with rambles. The mayor handed over the cheque on behalf of all those young people of the borough and will be used to improve the circumstances of local blind people."
