Cover Image Description: Photo of police officer with two ponies / horses. Headline: Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Caption: PC Ken Alsford at East Dulwich looks on as police horse Huntress (affectionately known as Mabel) gets to know her new-born foal, as yet unnamed but nicknamed "Migs" at Epsom stables where mother and baby are now living. Huntress, bought in Yorkshire last October had been going about her normal patrol duties, so it was quite a surprise when she produced "Migs" at 6am on May 12 with PC Alsford acting as "midwife". Why did no one suspect? A discreet enquiry produced the comment, "She always was a large mare; everyone thought she had wind."
